Visiting a Church
This pack is a template for a student booklet following a visit to a place of worship. This version is based on a Church but it could be easily adapted for any faith. The booklet is designed to help students capture key elements of the visit and to encourage increased religious literacy.
Exploring Buddhism - 24 page student booklet KS2/3
This extensive resource includes key facts and stories about the Buddhist faith. There are 24 separate pages which can be used individually or bundled together to create a student booklet.
Each page is suitable for use by students - upper KS2 - KS3. However, as Buddhist information can sometimes be difficult to come by there are elements of these that may also be useful for students studying Buddhism to a higher level.

This extensive resource includes key facts and stories about the Jewish faith. There are 24 separate pages which can be used individually or bundled together to create a student booklet. Pages include additional guidance/info for the teacher.

Exploring Hinduism - 21 page booklet KS2/3
This is a basic pack of Hinduism stories, facts and worksheets. It is adaptable for use by pupils in KS1 - KS2 - KS3. Stories and activities are in student friendly language.
Activities include:
welcome to my home puja activity: pupils explore the puja tray and consider how they would welcome a special guest to their home/how a Hindu welcomes a deity. There is also a blank welcome card for pupils to design for their deity of choice.
a selection of Hindu stories to support you in exploring different Hindu deities.
PSHE / RE Journal Writing Cover Lesson
This is a cover lesson that can be used by the whole department as and when required. It is a useful addition to the head of department tool kit! There are 22 different journal writing prompts for students to choose from to fill a 1 hour lesson. Suitable for use in KS3 and 4 as the topics are generic.
The life of Gandhi lesson KS3
This lesson on the life of Gandhi guides students to consider how Gandhi achieved what he did and what ultimately mattered most to him.
Additional resources required: video clip of Gandhi’s life (youtube or DVD)
Buddhism Bingo - adaptable template for any faith!
This excel file has been created to contain 32 adaptable Bingo boards. Bingo makes a great starter or plenary activity. It also works well as a game which then requires the player to explain the meaning of the key words on their board.
It is currently set up for Buddhism Bingo but can be easily adapted for other faiths.
Original sin wipe-out game
This presentation has been set up to work as a whole class game to test students understanding of original sin. Students select a statement that they believe to be true about the topic of original sin. If students are correct the square reveals a star. If they are incorrect the square reveals a wipe-out.
This presentation is easily adaptable to work for other topics that you want to test students about .
December Theme 3: Christmas
This is a 15 minute whole school presentation and activity on the theme of Christmas. It is used during form time to explore the theme of the week (see theme of the week planner)
Buddhism introduction
A one hour, fully resourced lesson exploring the life of the Buddha.
Students will learn the story of the Buddha through a story presentation. They will understand three Buddhist ideas:
true happiness is in the mind not in conditions in life;
true happiness is to achieved by living ‘in the moment’;
true happiness is dependent on having a ‘controlled mind’.

Guess the religion quiz
An engaging RE quiz. Interactive presentation. Combined with recall questions from your recent lessons (not included) students can select a jigsaw piece to remove from the slide. This will reveal one part of the full image.
This template is fully adaptable, I have used it with a selection of images suitable for RE.
